Thirteen Scriptures I am Working On In My Life...
(I have been finding scriptures that speak to me about who I am and where I belong...this is the result thus far...and it is only a drop in the bucket)

1. Luke 12:22 Then turning to his disciples, Jesus said, "So I tell you, don't worry about everyday life--whether you have enough food to eat or clothes to wear. 23 For life consists of far more than food and clothing. 24 Look at the ravens. They don't need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds! 25 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not! 26 And if worry can't do little things like that, what's the use of worrying over bigger things? 27 "Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 28 And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won't he more surely care for you? You have so little faith! 29 And don't worry about food--what to eat and drink. Don't worry whether God will provide it for you. 30 These things dominate the thoughts of most people, but your Father already knows your needs. 31 He will give you all you need from day to day if you make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. 32 "So don't be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom. 33 "Sell what you have and give to those in need. This will store up treasure for you in heaven! And the purses of heaven have no holes in them. Your treasure will be safe--no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it. 34 Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be. So, why do I worry so much?? I really need to give everything over to God, I need to trust Him for everything.

2. Psalm 91:1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 This I declare of the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I am trusting him. 3 For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from the fatal plague. 4 He will shield you with his wings. He will shelter you with his feathers. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. This seems to be something that I forget at moments. I really need to remember where my place is. Where I am always welcome no matter what!

3. Ephesians 1: 3 How we praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we belong to Christ. 4 Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5 His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure. 6 So we praise God for the wonderful kindness he has poured out on us because we belong to his dearly loved Son. 7 He is so rich in kindness that he purchased our freedom through the blood of his Son, and our sins are forgiven. 8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. Wow, adopted into His family. I have read this and known it before, but it needs to sink in. I need to always know that He chose me, He picked me, I am that important to Him...

4. Philippians 4:4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again--rejoice! 5 Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. 6 Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. 8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, let me say one more thing as I close this letter. Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned from me and heard from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace will be with you. God's Peace. This is ultimately what I want. My mind tends to run away from me a lot. I have been fighting this for the past few months in my own life. I have a hard time talking to people and just having them listen and understand me without criticizing me or thinking lower of me. I so want the peace of knowing that it is God who will do that for me.

5. Jeremiah 18:1 The LORD gave another message to Jeremiah. He said, 2 "Go down to the shop where clay pots and jars are made. I will speak to you while you are there." 3 So I did as he told me and found the potter working at his wheel. 4 But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so the potter squashed the jar into a lump of clay and started again. 5 Then the LORD gave me this message: 6"O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand. I am clay in His hands. If something doesn't go right He will just "squish me down" and mould me back to the perfect pot again...and over and over again(see song).

6. Isaiah 40:26 Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out one after another, calling each by its name. And he counts them to see that none are lost or have strayed away. 27 O Israel, how can you say the LORD does not see your troubles? How can you say God refuses to hear your case? 28 Have you never heard or understood? Don't you know that the LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth? He never grows faint or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. 29 He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; he offers strength to the weak. 30 Even youths will become exhausted, and young men will give up. 31 But those who wait on the LORD will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. I will not grow weary...Just wait on the Lord, renew my strength. How BIG is my God? He is the creator of the stars. He named them all. He cares so much for me and I need to continue renewing my strength, my mind, my heart, my everything.

7. Romans 12:1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice--the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask? 2 Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is. God's perfect will. That really does sound awesome. Shash made reference to that in her post titled "Choices". How great would it be to one day be able to totally live in that "perfect will", never worrying about the choices you are making because you know that it is what God wants you to do.

8. Psalm 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect. All the LORD's promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. 31 For who is God except the LORD? Who but our God is a solid rock? 32 God arms me with strength; he has made my way safe. 33 He makes me as surefooted as a deer, leading me safely along the mountain heights. 34 He prepares me for battle; he strengthens me to draw a bow of bronze. 35 You have given me the shield of your salvation. Your right hand supports me; your gentleness has made me great. 36 You have made a wide path for my feet to keep them from slipping. God is my Rock. He helps me to stand firm and keeps me safe. His way is perfect and He keeps His promises.

9. Ephesians 6:13 Use every piece of God's armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all Christians everywhere. I really need to get in the habit of "putting on the whole armor everyday". I need to teach it to my kids too. This is our protection and we wouldn't go into a physical battle without this, so why do I insist that I can survive a spiritual battle without...

10. Psalm 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. What else can I say for this one? It says it all...

11. Matthew 6:19"Don't store up treasures here on earth, where they can be eaten by moths and get rusty, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Store your treasures in heaven, where they will never become moth-eaten or rusty and where they will be safe from thieves. 21 Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be. What is my treasure? This is something that I am going to have to work on. My heart and thoughts could be a lot better. I am working on this now...

12. Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds. They don't need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are. Valuable...

13. Psalm 139:13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. 14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous--and how well I know it. 15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. 16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. 17 How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable! 18 I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up in the morning, you are still with me! He knew me before I was. He is with me all the time. He knows where my life is going.

  6. What a gorgeous T13! Very inspiring and uplifting and it came on a day when I could use a dose of "God time". The first one you have listed is probably one of my top 10 favorite Scriptures. I have read it to myself often when I have found myself caught in a moment of anxiety.

    My T13 is up :)
