Perspectives in the changes

There are so many things changing in my life. I am making so many decisions that will affect me, hopefully in a good way.

I have tried, for the last few weeks to find something that I had written...ages ago. It was during a time in my life where I know I was growing spiritually and man was it ever hurting. I got this amazing picture though. I need to see if my friend has the article...I really want to post it here.

The picture I got is one that keeps showing up in my life again, which means I am going to grow again:-) This is a good thing...even though it sometimes hurts in the process.

Want to know the article and the picture that keeps coming back to me? Ok...here goes...remember, things make sense to me and that is all that really matters. If you get this and it means something to you...then awesome...if not, thanks for reading anyways;-)

God is the Master Gardener. He really is...not only did He create the garden, but he continues to prune as time goes on. I don't know about you, but I am glad for this.

There are all kinds of pests in a garden. There are weeds (the plants we don't want) that choke the roots of the plants we want. They don't leave any room for the plants that we want to grow. There are aphids, you know...the bugs that eat the leaves and the fruit of the plants that we want in our garden. There are pests...like mice, rabbits etc....the ones that can get underground if needed to nibble away at the amazing fruit that is produced by our plants.

We need to be avid about keeping the pests, bugs and weeds out of our garden. I don't know about you, but I love to see gardens...I am more into the veggie/fruit producing ones. Things that I can eat and enjoy. But for some it is flowers.

In order for us to enjoy the garden of our dreams, we need to be picking the weeds, getting rid of the bugs and pests, putting up fencing if necessary. Protecting the roots and keeping the soil pliable so the roots can continue to grow.

God does this too...in our own lives, IF we let Him. The article that I had written was during a time in my life when I needed to grow and God really showed Himself to me. It was when one of my girls were helping me in the garden, but instead all I saw was the fact that she was stomping on all the little plants.

I would get upset at her and show her what to pull out, so she could learn the responsibility. God showed me that it was exactly what He was doing to me at that same time. He was showing me how I was stomping all over my potential fruit. He showed me the weeds and the bugs and the pests. He showed me what I needed to do to get rid of them from my life. I listened. I feel that I have grown a lot in the last few years.

I believe that I have seen fruit in my life...not just kids, but fruit. I have seen ripples coming from my home, and from my kids and in my own life. I have seen the seeds that have come from us. We are not perfect, we continue to evaluate our lives and grow further. Because we want to!! We know that there is always something better for us to strive for!!

I feel like there is a garden being pruned right now, the soils are being turned, the weeds are being pulled. The bugs are being dealt with and we need to be protecting ourselves and our families from the pests.

I feel like there is a massive growth going to happen!! I can smell the rain in the air (funny this was talked about in church today:-)!! It is coming and the ground is being prepared. We are being prepared. Our roots are craving the nourishment that is on its way.

It is midnight and I am rambling on, but this has been in my heart for a few weeks...and I need to work it out...this is definitely a time of change, and change really is good.

Our perspective in change will determine how well we can handle the change and the growth that is on its way...I am ready...are you?

  2. I'm looking for the newsletter but I think it's in a application that I won't be able to open on my computer.

Thanks Ruth, I was going through old posts as well, remember all that we went through back in 2007... God weeded the Garden back then. It's a good thing, I know, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt in the process right. :) My kids are older now... and they're starting to feel the effects of it - this is the part that I really don't like. But I'm trying to explain it to them so as not to allow them to bring offense into their lives, so that their hearts harden towards people and church, etc. A new area for me!!

  3. Oh yeah, growing hurts!! Stretching sometimes hurts too. But change also gives us the opportunity to reevaluate our lives, our values, how we handle things and how we need to teach our kids to grow through the changes. Not easy, very stretching, can be very painful...but the final product is beauty:-)
