Ok, so you didn't really know I was there, did you?
At 1 today, we were getting ready to head out the door. I rushed away from the computer and tripped over a toy. Fell straight on my knees. I felt my hip snap and then I just got up and headed out the door. (kids can't miss their program, ya know?)
Anyhow, it progressively got worse and worse throughout the day. Everytime I walked I had this clicking sensation in my hip area. So, at swimming lessons this afternoon, my mom talked me into going to the hospital to check it out. Just to make sure it wasn't seriously damaged or something.
Now, I haven't been to the hospital, for myself since just after Princess was born, in 1998. When I went to check in, my old address came up, it has been that long!!
Now, you have to fill out a SARS report before going in, it has a number on top. You wait for your number to be called and you proceed to triage. Then you go to the next area and wait for them to call your name and you register in and get your bracelet.
Then you wait for 2 and a half hours to be called back to a bed.
Then you wait another 2 and a half hours to see the dr. and he tells you...
You have pulled a ligament, that is the clicking, and the area is a bit swollen. Take some Advil and he is on his way to the next guy.
5 hours in the hospital for NOTHING.
That is why I don't normally go...
Ya gotta love our "Free" medical system eh?! I'm glad to hear it's nothing worse.
ReplyDeleteSee you later today?

Well, I am glad that you are okay though.
ReplyDeleteHere is AZ you better don't have an emergency. You might have to wait 24 hours to see a doctor. I had a friend who was passing a kidney stone - she didn't see the doctor at all - when back home after 15 hours in the ER.
I'm glad you're o.k....but what an afternoon! It is life-threatening going to the hospital..so glad you survived that!
