My Movie Reviews * Explicit Content...

****************DON'T READ IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED****************

I have been so busy lately that I have hardly had time to eat and sleep let alone do something productive on the internet...but here I am, forcing my eyes to stay open, so I can give you a movie review...

Because I seriously have to get this off my chest...I walked out of the theater tonight, at the end of the movie, absolutely disgusted...and if this is where movies are heading today...I will be happy to stay home and watch 80's movies over and over again (cause that is when movies were good;-)

So, here we go.

I had the opportunity to watch 2 movies this past week. I watched Easy A and Going The Distance...

Easy A - At first I didn't want to see this movie. Just the title alone bugged me. I was thinking that it would be a lot of sex and unnecessary talk about sex...I just wasn't interested. However, I wanted a night out with friends, so I went anyways...cause my sanity won that battle:-)

I actually didn't hate this movie. It was a movie that in the end taught something. There was a lot of lying, there was a lot of provocative dressing, there was a lot of talk of sex and changing of money...yes. It is NOT a movie for my daughter!! But there was a moral at the end. Basically - your life is your business and it really doesn't need to be shared with the whole world. You choose your life and the situations you end up in. No matter what others say, you know what is true and that is what counts in the end. And the biggest lesson of all...lying spreads like wildfire and ends up out of control quickly...

It is not a favourite movie, it still leaves a lot to be desired, there was a lot of unnecessary scenes and words and discussions...but it wasn't horrible...

Tonight I went out with one of my clients. We saw Going The Distance. If I wasn't working, I would have walked out within the first 20 minutes or so. I walked out at the end totally disgusted...It was stupid...harsh words, I know!!

The entire movie focussed on sex, no lesson in the end, no morals or values anywhere!! One of the scenes was at least 5 minutes talking with others about what the other person in the long distance relationship could be doing...I felt extremely uncomfortable during this discussion...let's just say there was a lot of rude talk about the girl doing things with her mouth with others and the guy could be out there doing something similar to sex, but not quite sex with other girls...why this scene had to be so long? Not sure...

Um, and this is just the beginning...I can't even go on about the rest of the inappropriate scenes...I am glad that I did not pay for this movie.

The thing is, this is the movie that I quickly glanced at and thought it wouldn't be so bad...WRONG!! I know it was rated R...I totally get it...I just saw Drew Barrymore and I guess my expectations were something else...maybe I am just not with it movie wise anymore...

I think I will stick to kids movies...at least they are somewhat tamer...though there are a lot more innuendos aimed at adults and older kids...though that would be another review post in itself:-)
