Full of Favor Friday

Our week was full of favor. This is my thankful post for the week. I am thankful for:

Mr. Hockey plays ball hockey and each week they do a draw for prizes that have been donated. His name was chosen this week and he is winning an OXBOW backpack. He was so excited to win!!

As you read previously, I made it through to the radio station and won a Dutch Blitz game. We have had so much fun playing this game and it has only been a day, their little phrase for the radio contest is 'The family that plays together, stays together'. What a fun game to play with the family, we really enjoyed our night (see the last post!)

Hubby was on the news last night. He had finished his route and had stopped for a coffee before heading to the dump. The news guy approached him and asked about the driving conditions...hubby said 'they suck' the news guy asked if it was the other drivers on the road and hubby answered 'people think I can stop on a dime' the news guy asked 'and you can't?' and hubby laughed and said 'no'. That was it... the kids were so excited to see him on tv...

Princess is being blessed with a new bike!! The community centre called me yesterday and our local police station has a bike giveaway. The kids have to be between 9 and 12 and they have to volunteer 40 hours at whatever place they are going through. Mr. Hockey had done this in the past and they chose Keri to do it this year!! She is so excited, because she really did need a new bike.

I am thankful that Princess has taken it on herself to take a Saturday to go to Burlington with her AWANA team to participate in a Bible Quiz challenge. She has flown through her T&T handbook and is almost finished all her silver and golds (extra work) and has proven herself to be dedicated to learning and studying God's word. She is giving up seeing the new Veggietale movie to go to the show and her dad and I are thrilled to go along and cheer her on!!

I am also thankful that I got to see the baby's heartbeat. Because of what we went through in the past, ultrasounds have always worried me. I seem to go in with an ungodly fear. I always worry that I will be told that the baby's heart was not beating (this is how we learned about Angel). So I am thankful that we saw the heartbeat.

There are so many other things to be thankful for - safe driving in these conditions, health all around our family, finances becoming more than enough, happy family times, being blessed with awesome children, even the snow and weather - when March comes in like a lion it means that it is going to warm up and go out like a lamb (hopefully) and I am just thankful for life in general, thankful that I was able to wake up today and enjoy another day.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. It is so important to stop and think about what you have to be thankful for - and you have lots! I am thankful for the love and support of my family and the opportunity to be a full-time stay-at-home mom.
