The $162 Christmas Gift...

The most expensive gift one of the kids gave this Christmas was a Hannah Montana pillow (really...who else's kids are totally addicted to anything Hannah Montana???).

Cutie Pie knew exactly what she was going to get her sister, Princess. As soon as we walked into the store and she saw that pillow, it was the gift...I was happy 'cause it meant shopping was going to get done quickly, and I hate shopping, let alone the week before Christmas...

Princess was so thrilled to have gotten this pillow and she added it to her little (but growing) pillow collection.

Now, how much do you suppose this pillow cost? Because hopefully you all know me by now and cheap (frugal) is really the only way to go;-)

Well, we got sick in the house and the only smart thing to do was wash everything in the house to knock it out totally...so everything was sent downstairs and we started load after load in the washer. We were keeping up really well, wanting to have it done quickly, when all of a sudden the washer stopped spinning the clothes...

What to do? We brought some of the clothes to the laundromat and washed them there then brought them home wet to dry in the dryer (remember...frugal...laundromats are expensive!!) Then, when we realized that would cost way too much money, we started washing the clothes in the washer, then scooping out the water, then wringing out the clothes...Princess thought it was fun to was our clothes the "old-fashioned" way...whatever...

So, how is this pillow $162, for those of you who haven't put it together yet...we called the repair guy and he came in and told me that the pump was gone and he was going to replace it...no problem, I was just excited that we would finally have our machine back again!!

At the end, when I was writing out the check for $152 he informed me that some pillow or something like that had broken and the stuffing was all over the pump...

Mmmhmmm...Gotta love Hannah Montana...Life just wouldn't be the same in our house without something like that going on at some point...

  1. on - my! I would have been through the roof and if I know my HM addicted child... she would have been whinnying for a replacement! I'm up to my eyeballs in HM stuff, it's nuts, but that pillow takes the cake.
